No Gilbert, almost 48 is NOT old :-). Well, the conversation didn’t start like that. It started with I can’t believe I am almost 50 AND Gilbert made 50 sound like the END of the WORLD, DECREPIT, close to DEATH! Gilbert is a whole 4 months older than me… so maybe he is OLD! BUT since I refuse to be OLD none of YOU can be old either (especially those of you who might be older than me)!
So far on my Crossfit journey AGE has not been a limiting factor. It has been physical conditioning… and that can always be improved upon! Strength, flexibility and endurance has come with continued workouts. AM I as flexible as I want? Can I clean 135#? The answer to both of those questions is no, so I keep on trying (even on my really bad overhead squat). I know I am not going to beat every 30 year old who is at an equivalent fitness level with me, but I do know that every day I will give it my all and leave the box satisfied that I am not OLD yet!
