Training for the UN “knowable”

Do you ever challenge the norm, take weaknesses head on? Do you push to your physical and mental limit? Try it, you can accomplish great things. PCF is a wonderful community, full of great athletes, great people and most of, great friends.  We had a couple different groups of athletes take on some very different and unique challenges this weekend. They all faced fears and overcame any mental limit they previously had. Great Job Guys and Girls!! Way to represent!!!

Shout out to Kevin W, Tiffany T, Haley C, Mark C, Lori M, Keegan L, Kris S and anyone else who pushed the limits this past weekend!!!

I appreciate that shout out and congrats to everyone else who challenged themselves over the weekend(especially in the heat). INTENSE

Here is what I have to say about the “UN” knowable. First let me just say I love me some PCF. I proudly decided to wear my Pearland Crossfit top for my finishing leg of running Sunday afternoon. Why…because there is no way I would have been able to do what I did with out my PCF training and support.

The Texas Independance Relay name just alone is intimidating enough…but going in I was like I haven’t trained for this, what am I thinking. To my surprise…I discovered that I in fact had been training for this all along. Working out like we do trains you for your unknown like you have never thought possible.

I was in a group with all full marathoners…I am talking Boston, Washington, Houston…you name it. Didn’t really know if I was going to be dead weight or not. I ended up being an asset that aided in my entire team batteling through all heat and terrain elements. Not just in my performance, but in helping with the recovery(hydration and nutrition) so we could get ready to repeat our running cycles again and again and again. LOL…FOR REAL!

So YOU…yes YOU are ALL training for your unknown. Even if you don’t know or haven’t signed up yet…DO IT NOW! You will surprise yourself.

  2. I cannot say enough about how not only Crossfit, but specifically Pearland Crossfit has changed my life. Last July when I married Mark, I thought I was marrying someone who I could relax on the couch with after a long day of work. I had no idea how our lives would change after the day he came home and said “We are going to try crossfit” After 7 months of crossfit I have changed in so many ways. In January I watched the 1/2 marathon on television and was just amazed that I knew so many people running in it, and that made me think that I could do it too. So many people thought I was crazy and even told me I was too ambitious and maybe I could finish but I would never be able to run the entire 13.1 miles. Those people were wrong and if you think you cannot do it, you are wrong too. If you never challenge yourself you will never know what you are truly capable of. I appreciate all of the kind words, pushing, coaching, yelling, and sweat that I have experienced at Pearland Crossfit, thank you all :)
